Fantasy Baseball

After a terrible week, I am happy to say that my pitching staff finally got it together and I won my first game this week in fantasy baseball. Go Padres. Also, I might add that Chone Figgins and Kendry Morales did exceptionally well for the Angels and I am so appreciative. I am glad Chone is doing well, but I will miss seeing him play for the Bees this season, he was always so reliable. Again, though, in the interest of Fantasy Baseball and the Los Angeles Angels, go Chone Figgins.

Awful horrible stupid night terrors.

The last couple of days have been especially hard and at the same time cute for us here. Paige has been having night terrors and that has been horrible, any parent who has exprerienced this can attest that it can shake a person to the core. Watching my child thrash about in sheer terror and be able to do nothing but rub her back and pray has been so taxing, especially when she remembers nothing of it the very next day. Of course since I spent the night hearing her calling to me and looking me in the eye but not seeing me, crying that she loves me and doesn't want me to leave, although I am sitting right in front of her, I spend the days trying as hard as I can to go out of my way to spend time with her. I suspect that maybe she is feeling jealousy and maybe some abandonment since her baby sister is getting to the age where she is responding to us more, and is getting more attention. Anyway, we have been playing a lot more together, instead of working or cleaning which I normally do when Mia goes down for naps I have been trying to spend that time with Paige doing whatever she wants to do. We have been cooking a lot of pretend meals, taking a lot of pretend camping trips and eating a lot of real picnics packed in her Shamu lunchbox. It is a lot of fun. She says some pretty cute things, like if we are in the middle of a game and she wants to go do something else, but doesn't want me to leave my part of the game, she will say, "excuse me for just one moment, I will be right back." which I think is hilarious. She told me tonight that she loves me as high as heaven. (we have been reading "I love you as much") I love that little kid. I wish there were something we could do to help her through this time. Poor little baby.

Mia and the Duck Cap

I love this cap. It was actually cousin Andrew's first, then it was Paiges, and now Mia kind of fits into it.

Paige picks her own outfit...

This is Paiges first attempt to dress herself. At least she was actually getting ready to go swimming, so she got the swimsuit right.

Tamara's wedding

Tamara Prina got married to Brian Hills on Friday. I was truly honored to be a part of her wedding but demoted myself to photographer for the reception as I felt I would serve them better if I was not in a dress. Anyway, it was very nice, and I was so happy for Tamara! So was Paige, although I think she was more excited to see Brian all dressed up. I asked her if she thought Tam looked pretty in her dress, she said "ya, but mommy, is Brian a prince?' and then she wanted to take a picture with him but unfortunately he could not be torn away from his guests so she settled for a picture with the princess.

Her favorite part by far w
as the cake, however, and I have a picture to prove it. Mia couldn't have cared less. About any of it. But at least she got to wear her Easter dress again.

The Fox and the Hound

I saw the Fox and the Hound at the drive-in when I was four. It was the first movie I ever saw at a drive-in, (followed a few years later by Savanah Smiles as my first movie in the movie theater) and I remember loving it. So imagine my delight that it was the "movie time monday" movie on Disney Channel today. I recorded it and let Paige watch it while I got in the shower and did some house work. About half way through I hear these blood curdling cries from downstairs, you know the kind that make you go running, so I did, and there sat Paige sobbing on the couch. It took me about twenty minutes of coaxing to get her to calm down and talk about what was bothering her, and when she finally did talk she said "wh-why (sniff) did that wady (sniff) leave the fox in the woods?" And then it hit me. The Fox and the Hound was the saddest movie ever. And I let my extremely sensitive three year old watch it all by herself. Needless to say, it is erased from our DVR.

Mia Claire

Mia is trying so hard to roll over. I don't really want her to, is that bad? I just remember how excited I was for Paige to learn how to roll over and then how shocked I was at how hard mothering became after that because she could move and was in to everything. But still, it is pretty cute to see her reaching, reaching, reaching to get all the way over. I used her as a little guinea pig this morning trying to get the lighting and white balance right using my white backdrop. The pictures turned out ok once they were majorly altered in photoshop.
